Although our church buildings are now closed again for public worship, they remain open for private prayer, and the church will continue to meet to worship online. This time, the bishops of the Church of England and leaders of other faiths have endorsed a public letter strongly protesting about the closure of church buildings for public worship. Our acts of service to the wider community are energised by the practice of our faith; receiving the sacraments are not just another 'leisure activity', they're how Christians are sustained in the spiritual journey. Our public acts of worship are a communal good.
Bishop Richard calls us to pray at 6pm every evening, but especially on Thursdays. You might want to join in online prayers led by the Archdeacon of Hereford at 6pm on Thursday evenings. To register, please follow this link.
Bishop Richard concludes by reminding us that: "We have the hope of the glorious, life-transforming Gospel, and that is unaffected by Government regulations!"
