A common vision

20 Oct 2022 • From Bishop Richard Jackson

In this week's video, Bishop Richard talks more about our diocesan strategy -- how it acknowledges our diversity of taste and outlook, yet urges us to unite around a common vision to 'Proclaim Christ and Grow Disciples' across our communities, and to foster faith communities living by the values of Christlikeness, prayerfulness and (outward-facing) engagement.

Are we prepared to sacrifice our personal preferences for the good of others' faith, and make our worship more accessible?  Will we shy away from unhelpful comparisons that churches sometimes make to other churches?  Bishop Richard declares: 'A small church is not a failed large church -- it's a different community seeking to be faithful in its own context.'

Bishop Richard concludes by praying that the Lord would continue to encourage us in His service and empower us with His Spirit to become the people that He needs us to be for this missionary task.
