Do not be afraid
3 Dec 2020 • From Bishop Richard Jackson
Bishop Richard observes that fear and anxiety are an epidemic in our culture at this time of COVID-19, and asks: what does 'Do not be afraid' mean to us?
Our Bishop draws on some of the sociological analysis of Edwin Friedman, encouraging us to be a 'non-anxious presence' this Advent.
Rather than being buffeted by the worries of the world, we should instead tread the path suggested by St. Ignatius: "I want and choose whatever leads to God's deepening life in me."
