Diocesan Day of Prayer for Generosity

Diocesan Day of Prayer for Generosity

12 May 2025 6:00AM — 11:00PM

Bishop Richard sent a letter in mid April to 'faithful and regular churchgoers', urging them to participate in next month's diocesan Day of Prayer for Generosity.  On Monday 12 May, parishioners are encouraged to pray earnestly for generosity of all sorts to unfold across the diocese, to help cover the costs of parish ministry. The Bishop said prayer resources will be available shortly to support individuals and groups who "set aside time that day to pray for God to release and provide the finances we need to sustain and grow our ministry."

As Bishop Richard says, "Our predecessors made provision for years of need. Friends, those years of need have arrived."  As he continued in his Easter Sunday sermon, Jesus' life, death and resurrection should give us confidence to remove "hopelessness that sees the world as irredeemable. Christ is risen. He is alive forever. He can be known. We can stake our lives on him now and trust him for eternity."

You can view/download Bishop Richard's letter and read a transcript of the Bishop's Easter Sunday sermon at Hereford Cathedral on the diocesan website.

One of the most helpful ways to support our parish churches is to make a regular donation via the Parish Giving Scheme, which you can do online, by phone, or by completing a paper form.  Please follow the links below or speak to your church treasurer (details available on our contact page).

Thank you so much for your prayerful and practical support.
